Use number + color when calling the cut

  • 01

    Call the two clues

Say the cable count and then the bulb color: “Three cables, yellow bulb.”

  • 02

Read the cables left to right

If your team has the order, say it the way it sits on the module: “Blue, red, green.”

  • 03

Answer with the number and the color

Give both: “Cut cable two — red.” A color on its own can be cut twice.

The whole exchange

Clues in, answer out. Read the cables left to right if your team has the order, and say the number with the color so the player at the panel does not have to guess which cable you meant.

Common Cable mistakes

  • Mixing up the bulb and the cable color

The bulb color is the clue. The target color is the cable to cut.

  • Using the 3-cable rule for 4 cables

The target changes with the cable count.

  • Calling out only the color

Include the cable number too: “Cable two, red.”

  • Entering the cables in the wrong order

Always enter and call them from left to right.

Cable FAQ

What information do I need for the Cable solver?

The cable count and the bulb color. Add the cable colors if you want the exact cable position.

Does the target change with the number of cables?

Yes. Three-cable and four-cable modules use different target colors.

Should I cut the bulb color?

Not necessarily. The bulb color is used to look up the target cable color.

Why should I enter the cable colors from left to right?

It lets the solver turn the target color into a specific cable number.
