BOMBANANA

Troubleshooting

BOMBANANA Online & Lobby Troubleshooting

Choose what is going wrong and work through the shortest checks first. Don't reinstall the game before ruling out the simple lobby, Steam, network, and voice settings that commonly block a session.

What's not working?

Try these first

Six checks, cheapest first. Most lobby problems end here.

Can't join a BOMBANANA lobby?

  1. Confirm everyone is online in SteamMake sure all three players are signed in and Steam itself shows them online.
  2. Recreate the lobbyHave the host create a fresh session and send a new invite or room details instead of repeatedly retrying the old lobby.
  3. Restart the session, not the whole PCClose the current BOMBANANA lobby, reopen the game if necessary, and try a fresh lobby.
  4. Check VPN or unusual network routingIf one player is using a VPN, proxy, hotspot, or restricted network, test once without it.
  5. Check for a wider Steam or game outageIf every player suddenly fails at the same time, the issue may not be local.

Friend can't join your lobby

The same failure from the host side.

  1. Create a new lobbyStart a fresh session and invite from it.
  2. Send a fresh inviteAn old invite can point at a lobby that no longer exists.
  3. Have the other player restart BOMBANANAAsk them to close and reopen the game before they try to join again.
  4. Switch host onceIf one player's lobby consistently fails, let another player host the session. That quickly tells you whether the problem follows the host or affects everyone.

Lobby connects, then drops

Getting in is not the same as staying in.

  1. Have all three restart the current sessionClose the lobby, reopen BOMBANANA, and start a new session rather than rejoining the one that dropped.
  2. Test once without VPNIf anyone is on a VPN, proxy, or hotspot, run one session without it and see whether the drops follow that connection.
  3. Check for a connection that keeps switchingWi-Fi that falls back to a hotspot, or a machine moving between networks, can break a session.
  4. Try a different hostMove the session to another player and see whether the drops move with the host or stay with one connection.
  5. If all three keep dropping, look widerThree players losing the same session at once is worth checking against Steam and the game before changing anything locally.

Voice chat not working?

Voice fails for its own reasons, so it gets its own checks. Work through these before changing anything about the lobby.

  1. Check the selected microphoneMake sure the microphone BOMBANANA or your system is using is the one you actually speak into.
  2. Check input and output levelsConfirm your microphone isn't muted and your output device is the headset or speakers you're using.
  3. Check OS microphone permissionMake sure the game is allowed to access the microphone in your system settings.
  4. Test the same microphone outside the gameIf teammates still can't hear you, test that microphone in Steam or another voice app to separate a game issue from a device issue. If your team already uses another voice app, test there as well to confirm the microphone itself works.
  5. Restart the voice sessionIf the device works elsewhere, recreate the BOMBANANA lobby and test again.

Talking to your team is part of a run, and the microphone is only one way to do it.

Is the problem local or affecting everyone?

The answer decides which half of this page is worth your time.

  • Only one player has the issue

That points at something local to that player rather than at the lobby as a whole.

    • That player's Steam sign-in and online status
    • That player's network, VPN, or hotspot
    • A full restart of BOMBANANA on that machine
    • For voice, the selected microphone and permissions
    • A freshly created lobby rather than the old one
  • All three players have the issue

That points away from any one player and toward the session itself.

    • Recreate the lobby from scratch
    • Switch host once and see whether the problem moves with it
    • Check whether Steam or the game reports a wider availability problem

Still not working?

If the checks above came up empty, this is the order to escalate in.

  1. Verify the installed game files through SteamQuicker than a reinstall, and it can repair a damaged install without touching your settings.
  2. Reinstall only after that failsReinstall only after the simpler checks fail. Most lobby problems aren't worth starting with a full reinstall.
